Photographs: North Korea’s Gulags
(c) HRNK
The following satellite imagery depicts North Korea’s Gulags (also known as internment camps, political prison camps, concentration camps).
These photographs have been provided by the “The Hidden Gulag,” a 2003 publication of the Commission for Human Rights in North Korea.
In the summer of 2009, The Washington Post Online has also created an interactive map of North Korea’s Gulags.
Each set of photographs is labeled by the location and name of the Gulag.
