Sample Email / Letter to Chinese Embassy
Dear Chinese Embassy:

I am writing from [your country]. I urge the Government of China to stop deporting North Korean refugees back to North Korea, where they face torture, imprisonment, and death. There are numerous national governments and international organizations that are ready and willing to financially and physically support North Korean refugees as they pass through China to other countries, at absolutely no expense to the Chinese government. I urge you to allow these refugees safe passage and resettlement. Your decision can change the lives of many.

Respectfully,
Your Name, Address, Home Country

Sample Email / Letter to National / World Leaders and Representatives
Dear Leader:

I urge you to make Human Rights in North Korea a priority. For too long, the North Korean people have faced mass-starvation, hunger, internment camps, forced labor, restrictions on movement and belief, and terror. The atrocities perpetrated by the North Korean government are in violation of international law, as well as several national laws. In fact, the mass-starvations and internment camps constitute crimes against humanity under the Rome Statute.

I urge you to: (1) Include North Korean human rights in our country’s policies and in our negotiations and discussions with the North Korean government; (2) Appeal to the Government of China to stop deporting North Koreans and to afford North Korean refugees the safe passage through China mandated by international law; and (3) To support the safe haven and resettlement of North Korean refugees in our nation.

The people of North Korea are a priority for me, and for the rest of the world community. As our [local/national/world] leader, please ardently represent and advocate for our priorities so that we may see our beliefs transform into action.

Respectfully,
Your Name, Address, Home Country
